Broadening civil discourse through brave spaces

Our Story

Four years ago, a couple of middle school students and a social studies teacher created a club called We Speak in Canton middle school for students struggling to find their voice. Currently, the club has expanded to three different school levels in Canton, reaching students in grades 4 through 12. We Speak values the importance of civil discussion through student mentorship across age groups, backgrounds, morals, ideologies, and more.

Our Mission Statement:

We Speak is a discussion-based club that encourages a space for all students to discover and utilize their voice through meaningful discourse driven by their experiences in an ever-changing society.
